A subdomain is the section of the web address that's before a domain and you've quite possibly seen a lot of subdomains while surfing around the Web. For example, many websites like Wikipedia have versions a number of languages using subdomains - en.wikipedia.org, de.wikipedia.org and so forth. The best thing about using a subdomain is that it can have an independent website and its own records, so you can even host it on a separate server. The practical use is that one could have a supplementary website, such as an e-learning portal for pupils in addition to the main school site. If you work with subdomains as an alternative to subfolders, it will be much easier to perform maintenance or to upgrade a particular website, not mentioning that it will be more safe to have the websites separate from one another.

Subdomains in Shared Hosting

Our shared hosting packages will enable you to create many subdomains for every domain address hosted in your account without any difficulty. As long as the main domain address is added, it takes two mouse clicks to create a subdomain and select what folder it's going to open (if different from the default one), create custom error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and a lot more. All subdomains are going to be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for quick access and administration. By right-clicking on any one of them and by using instant access buttons you can see the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that specific subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the amount of subdomains you can create with any one of our plans, so you can have as many as you wish.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Servers

Through our semi-dedicated server plans, you are going to be able to create an unrestricted amount of subdomains for any of the domains which you add as hosted in the account. It takes a few clicks to create a new subdomain and during the process you are going to be able to add unique error pages for it, decide if it will use a shared or a dedicated IP address, change the default folder that it'll access or activate FrontPage Extensions. All subdomains you have inside the account are going to be arranged under their root domain in alphabetical order and you'll be able to see and manage all of them with ease. By using fast access buttons and right-click menus you'll be able to jump to the website files inside the File Manager section or view logs, visitor stats and other info about any one of your subdomains.
